ON THE ISSUES

Economic Development

We need to deliver higher wages and a stronger workforce. Let’s keep what’s special and fix what’s slow, creating opportunity for the private sector and investment that supports it.

  • Remove friction: We need to think in decades, but respond in days. Processes are a maze, timing is uncertain, and we’re missing opportunities as a result—I know we can do better. Let’s have speed be a signal that we want new and high wage jobs here.
  • Lean In: Let’s treat our small businesses and their employees like customers who we want to attract, delight, and retain, so that more of them can thrive and grow. Strong small businesses create high paying jobs, helping Maine families stay here and thrive.
  • Play to Our Strengths, Revitalize Rural Maine: Combine our natural resource advantages with innovation, to grow high-wage jobs in fiber, the ocean, life sciences, and clean energy.
